Abstracts should be relevant to the symposium theme: From Cure to Care: Building a Comprehensive Post-TB Health Agenda
Types of submission:
We welcome Research submissions from all research disciplines across the translational and clinical spectrum, from fundamental science to implementation research and policy.
We also welcome the submission of Interesting clinical cases or case series that contain relevant learning points.
Relevant ethical approval/patient consent must be given prior to submission.
If you are an affected community member or a healthcare worker, we welcome submission of a Perspective piece containing insights that you would like to share.
Preparing your submission
The abstract submission portal will ask you to indicate the following:
1) Whether you are an Early Career Researcher (individuals who are within 5 years of PhD/MD or MD-equivalent, completion, or who are working towards an MD or PhD)
2) Whether you are also applying for a travel scholarship
3) Whether you are a member of a symposium working group and if so which one
4) Whether you would be willing to prepare a poster or an oral presentation or both, if selected
5) Which of the following categories your submission best fits into:
- Lung
- Cardiovascular
- Neurological / musculoskeletal
- Paediatric
- Economic, social and psychological
6) Which additional categories your submission fits into (if any):
- Pathophysiology
- Patient/community or healthcare worker perspective
- Epidemiology, Implementation science, Health economics
- Advocacy and policy engagement
- Clinical case/case series
7) Whether your submission has been presented previously and if so whether this has been locally (only in your institution), nationally (only within your country), regionally (only within your continent) or internationally (outside your continent)
8) Whether previously published even as abstract. Whether any copyright applies.
9) The name and location of your institution and other authors to be acknowledged
10) Your consent to publish your abstract in the conference book, should the abstract be accepted.
The submission will comprise up to 400 words of free text and up to one figure/table.
- If this is a research submission we require the use of the following headings: Background/Rationale, Methods, Results, Conclusions/Impact.
- If the submission is a clinical case/case series, we recommend you consider a title that does not give away the diagnosis (if appropriate) and include a brief case summary and a clear statement about the key learning point.

- There is no fee for abstract submission. Registration is not required prior to submission.
Selection for presentation
Research submissions will be scored on relevance to conference theme, clarity/coherence, use of appropriate methods and implications for/impact on clinical practice, community engagement or policy.
Interesting clinical cases will be scored on relevance and the importance of the key learning point.
Abstract acceptance will be indicated by email in early January.
Unless accepted for a scholarship, presenters are required to cover conference registration fees and travel/accommodation expenses themselves.
